Popular Film-maker Mani Ratnam recently filed a complained against a unknown person, who threatened him with bomb. According to sources, he received a bomb threat call and filed a police complaint on Tuesday. Sources claimed that this threatening call was made due the dialogues of his movie “Chekka Chivantha Vaanam“, which was released last on September 28.
Apparently, the dialogues used in the film are controversial and someone has taken an offence to it. The political thriller is one of Mani’s more successful films in recent times. Not only did the film open well, but its advance bookings were also exemplary.
Talking about movie’s earnings, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that film was also doing well in international markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and the New Zealand. Until Saturday, CCV had made $ 170,682 (Rs 88.07 lakh) in Australia, £63,895 (Rs 60.40 lakh) in the UK, NZ$ 54,411 (Rs 26.12 lakh) in New Zealand and $592,319 (Rs 4.30 crore) in the US.
The movie was starring Arvindsamy, Vijay Sethupathi, STR, Arun Vijay, Jyotika, Aishwarya Rajesh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Prakash Raj, Jayasudha, Dayanna Erappa, and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
