Former India Test players like Sachin Tendulkar and Gautam Gambhir have rejected the idea of the four-day Test of the ICC. A day ago, the captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli, also rejected this idea. Both of them think that on the fifth day in the Test, the spinners are dominated and they take advantage of the situation and contribute to their team, but this ICC idea will take away their right.

Sachin told Mumbai Mirror, “Spinners do wonders on the fifth day by taking advantage of the old ball and the broken wicket. It is all a part of Test cricket. In such a situation, is it appropriate that the right of the spinners be taken away from them.”

Sachin said, “Today T20s are happening. ODIs are happening and now T-10s are also happening. In such a situation, tampering with the purest form of cricket is not justified. There is no need for it.”

Sachin also said that this game cannot be made popular by reducing it by one day from the test. Instead the ICC should focus on the quality of the pitches. Earlier, Gambhir supported Indian captain Kohli and said that he too is not in favor of this ICC proposal.

Gambhir said, “This is a ridiculous idea. Reducing one day from the test will not bring results and then new things will start.” Kohli said on Saturday that he was not in favor of the four-day Test match of the ICC as he believed that it would not be justice with the purest format of the game. According to Kohli, the day-night test is very much to take Test cricket forward because through it, Test cricket can be widely marketed.

Kohli told reporters on the eve of the first T20 match to be played between India and Sri Lanka, “I think it should not change. As I said, bring the day-night test to take Test cricket forward.” Gone, it creates excitement, but it should not be tampered with more than that. I don’t think it should be done. ”

He said, “You can change more and more day-night tests in Test cricket. Its trend has started. Instead of focusing on something else, focus only on the day-night test, then this statement I can expect a lot of charm. “The ICC is considering a four-day Test match from the World Test Championship-2023. Many players including Australia’s Test captain Tim Paine have criticized it. Now Kohli has also joined it.

Kohli said that if the five-day test is reduced to four days, then that day will also come when talk of the three-day test will start. Before Kohli, Australian Test team captain Tim Paine, Glenn McGrath, Nathan Lyon, South Africa’s Warnon Philander have also opposed it.
