The Indian cricket team has been announced for the T20 and Test series to be held with Bangladesh. The selectors have rested captain Virat Kohli for the T20 series and Rohit Sharma has been given the command of the team in his place.
Sanju Samson and Shivam Dubey have been included in the team for the first time in the team selected for the T20 series.
No changes have been made in the test team. The same team has been retained, who defeated South Africa in the Test series.
However Shahbaz Nadeem is not named in the Test team. Nadeem played in the Ranchi Test match in place of Kuldeep Yadav, who had a shoulder injury.
Mumbai’s fast bowler Shardul Thakur has also been included in the T20 squad while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been rested. Delhi fast bowler Navdeep Saini has not been selected in the team due to fitness reasons.
Chairman of the selection committee MSK Prasad said, “Experienced fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar can return to the next series (against West Indies) after recovering from injury. ”
He also said that it will take time for fast bowling leader Jasprit Bumrah to return.
